Because the grandparents live so far away. Because Carlie changes much more than Garrett does. Because this is my blog and I can. That's why.

I'm still here. Nate just noticed a lull in the programming and thought he'd report some old things he'd written. How is everyone's summer going? I'm having a good time. Now that camp is over, things are settling down to a nice slow drawl. I usually prefer the fast pace, but this is nice for a change. This morning we got up and spontaneously decided to go to Hamilton Pool. It's a swimming hole about an hour from us. I've wanted to go since we moved here, but the timing was never right with the kids. So this morning I made a sudden decision and we were in the car driving 35 minutes later.
It was beautiful and Nate heard other people saying that it looked dirty this time of year. So, we'll definitely be back for that even nicer time, whenever it is! Of course, I only had my camera phone, so these pictures don't do it justice.

Most of you have never heard of it, but I decided to bring back Nathan's Guide To Internet Phenomena. It was a short-lived but exciting foray into the goings-on in the land of the World Wide Web. I keep bringing up things that people have evidently never heard of but are common-place to me, and therefore I have decided that there are some things my friends and family just need to be made aware of in the world of cyberspace. For posterity's sake, I have retroactively posted my first 3 articles from a few years ago.

Lucky me, I was called to go to Girls Camp this year! (LDS camp for girls aged 12-18) I had a blast. Nate's Mom was nice enough to come out and help with the kids and I had a great time getting to know the girls in our ward and clearing my mind. Yes it was hot, yes it was buggy, yes my cot was wet the last night and I finally escaped to my car for four hours of sleep. What can I say? The best things are never the easiest. Not to mention seeing my kids' joyful faces when I came home and lining up for 5 minute snuggles. :)
