This past Sunday was Garrett's first day in Sunbeams!* He's really getting old on me now. Is this the face of someone you would like to have in your Sunbeam class?

Since I frequently find myself teaching music in Primary, I committed myself to make sure that my kid knew all the Primary songs. I am surprised at how well Garrett has already picked up the songs by listening to them before bed and sometimes in the car. Of course, listening to non-stop Christmas music during December certainly reinforced that idea that songs are for singing. At any rate, the next time I'm Primary Chorister, I'll know not to let the parents off so easy. I guess it's true for anything - parents should be the primary teachers in the lives of their children.

And here's my super-sweet quote of the week. Tonight Garrett said, "Mom, whenever we read scriptures together I really, really love you!" and gave me a big kiss. So there you go, lesson #2: 3 year-olds can feel the Spirit.

*Children 18 months to 3 years go to Nursery in our church. In January of the year they will turn 4, they start to go to Primary which consists of an hour joint singing and learning with all the children and then another hour for their own Sunday School. That youngest class is called "Sunbeams"
