Have I mentioned lately that the weather is cooling down? :)

It's been great. It's supposed to be 70-75 and clear all week. It just doesn't get much better than that. We've paid our summertime dues, so I don't mind rubbing it in a little when I get the chance.

As a result, we've had a bit more motivation to take care of some household items. Last week Carlie had a cold, we got a new roof (stress levels quadruple when your day is accompanied by loud bangs), and I painted the kitchen (stress level quintuple). Like I've said before, it's all or nothing with me.

So, here's the kitchen. I can't find a picture of what it looked like when we moved in, but this is what it looked like just after we got started:

Now, here's what we did to it the first time around:

yellow

I didn't love that yellow the day I put it up, but it was the last wall I painted in the house and I was tired of painting! I didn't know what other direction to take things, so I decided to sit on it awhile.

Two years later:

blue

Oooh. Ahhh. Love that blue!!! I need to get something to stick on the top and maybe some window treatments, but it's coming.

table

We (mainly Nate) also finally got the garden beds whipped into shape. We bought the rocks for in between the beds shortly after we moved in and just now got around to putting them in. The beds have had a mind of their own for quite some time, so it's a relief to get that sorted out.

Before (this picture was taken 5 months ago, so add about 5 months of pure neglect and growth and you're have a slight idea of how out of control this was):

After:

It's hard to believe we've been in this house for 2 years. Someone needs to have a talk with Time before all this uncontrollable spinning hurts someone.

No, the picture is new too. We've needed a picture there for 2 years! My friend
helped me pick it out from IKEA. (I should mention to everyone else that
Stephanie was the one who convinced me to go the dark paint route!)

I love the blue! It's beautiful! Good job, Candace. I'll remember to ask
Stephanie for painting advice in the future. =)

The blue looks amazing. It makes everything look more expensive.
